Bubba Gump Restaurant : Reviewed

Its been a looooong time since i last been here. Last weekend me and Erica Ting didn't have anything to do and didn't know where to go eat so we thought, just go to The Curve for a walk about and decide there since there is a bazaar at The Curve during the weekends.

Walked around and nothing special pops up until Erica saw, Bubba Gump.  She was meaning to try it for some time already and this was the best opportunity to give try it again.

For those who dunno, Bubba Gump is the dad of Forrest Gump, a character that Tom Hanks portrayed in the movie of the same name.  Bubba is a shrimper in the movie and i assumed that the restaurant chain is started based on this idea.

Needless to say, their main dishes are mainly shrimps.  Very Very good quality and very tasteful.  They offer a nice variety of how shrimps are being served.  The restaurant is filled with memorabilia from the movie and the TV are showing the movie over and over and over and over again. lol. One thing cool is that you don't have to raise ur hand to ask for service.  There is a metal plating on the table that shows either RUN FORREST RUN or STOP FORREST STOP. If the metal plating is showing RUN FORREST RUN (as shown in the photo below, the waiters will go on walking around the restaurant without stopping at your table. If it is showing STOP FORREST STOP, then naturally the waiters will stop at your table then.

Previously when i was last here, I had the onion rings.  Shown in the pic below, you can tell how huge the portion the onion rings were.

HU GE!!!!!

Both of us couldn't decide on which is the best so we proceeded to ask the waiter, and guess what his answer is....EVERYTHING IS GOOD!! hahaha what a lot of a help. We browse thru the menu and we decided that the Shrimper's Heaven is the best choice to try everything. Its basically a combo set that contains, Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp, Chilly shrimp, Fried Shrimp and Japanese style Tempura Shrimp. It was served in a popcorn type of setting. The coconut fried shrimp stood out. I guess the most normal for me was the prawn tempura. Being a japanese freak, i wasn't so impressed with the tempura.

It was our first meal of the day and we didn't ordered that much. Just the Shrimper's Heaven and the onion rings is already enough to fill up our tummies.

Overall, it was a good meal in a very unique setting.
