Pantai Seafood Restaurant : Reviewed

Round 1 of my birthday dinner was sponsored by my buddy Dave, Who graze us with his presence with his new hawt gf who happens to be the top 3 Philippines Next Top Model. And yes she is hawt. No photos here on her as this is a restaurant review. :D my next post will feature her and i'll let your eyes pop out later. :D

Anyway, I've been there numerous time and I think this is one of the better seafood restaurants in PJ. You can basically tell by the mount of cars parked at the lot every single day.  The location of the restaurant is somewhat obscure but people still throngs this place on a daily basis.

Since it was just 5 of us, Daren Yoon, Dave Ewing, Jhenn, the GF and me, we decided not to order much and just stuck with 6 simple dishes.  1) Combo Steam Eggs (3 diff type of eggs), 2) Yi Song Kai Lan (Kai Lan cooked in 2 different ways), 3) Boiled Tiger Prawns, 4) Venison in black pepper sauce, 6) Pork Ribs and the best, 6) Dragon Grouper.

For those that don't like to order from the menu, you can just scoot over to the aquariums and choose ur seafood and someone will take your order from there. You can choose how you would like your seafood be made.  Plenty of choices for u there. From the economical to the astronomical. Its all there, all the prices are there as well.

Seafood Aquarium
First we have the venison,  nothing much to shout about here as venison is venison.  Some people gets turned off by the sound VENISON. Well, its just deer meat. Beef is just cow meat. So whats the difference. I personally like venison, I find the meat tender and much more juicy that beef. Overall, the meat is good and the gravy makes it all more tasty. RM 30.000
Venison in Black Pepper Sauce
Next up, Pork ribs or some sort. Can't recall as I wasn't the one ordering.  It something like Marmite Pork Rib.  Meat is juicy and the sauce is very tasty. Then again, pork is pork again. :D. RM20.00
Pork Ribs
Third dish, the Tiger Prawns. Yes i agree, very fresh and very juicy. Since it was picked up at the aquarium, we didn't wanna spoil it and requested it to be boiled so that we can savour the freshness and natural juiciness of the tiger prawns. Very good indeed. I previously tasted some very nice prawns at another seafood restaurant which i will post later. RM 39.00
Boiled Tiger Prawns
I've been told that this is called Yi Song Kai Lan.  Its basically Kai Lan make in two different ways.  I know of another place that makes this dish and it is offered at Restaurant Muar.  Compared to this, I would rank this dish second to what Restaurant Muar has to offer. RM 22.00

And for the FINALE, we ordered the Dragon Grouper.  This fish cost RM178 per/kg.  Just this fish alone cost us RM231.  Its about 1.3kg but looks way more that it weighs. We preferred it steams with soy sauce and boyyyy. The meat is so so so good. Juicy, crunchy and takes fabulous.
Dragon Grouper

Super Delicious.
The Damage

All is all, it was a very very satisfied dinner.  The whole bill came up to RM 455.00 as you can see from the receipt above.  A little pricey but will definitely come back here.
