Got an invitation to catch the Superstars of Magic premiere up in Genting recently and graciously accepted it. Front row seats y'all. Not too shabby. I thought what's the harm in giving this a try. I've been a fan of magic since I was a kid, admit it, you are too. Since young I have been amused by how a magic trick works. I remember spending time researching tricks and how they work. Recently there has been shows on cable TV called Secrets of Magic : Revealed. I was captivated. Downloaded it, watched it and went..."ahhhh thats how they do it".

With the advent of all these revelations, magicians, illusionist or mentalists will find it harder and harder to impress the audience. People now have the internet, they would have watch illusions and tricks before on avenues such as youtube and others. Most of my viewing were online or from dvd or from TV, never have i been to a live show such as this before. It would be cool to be able to watch a live magic show from the Front row and seeing it all so close. It provides me the opportunity to spot how they do it. Was it a trick, a hidden hand, and small little wire etc etc etc...

I gotto say, I approached this invitation with enthusiasm. To be presented with this opportunity to inspect each and every trick so up close. Of some of the tricks performed, I was able to deduce on how they manage to do it. Some were projectors assisted and some were just plain computer assisted. Sleight of hand was a norm in every single magicians arsenal.
But no matter how I tried to search online on a number of tricks, I can't seem to find the answer. One of the acts that amuses me is the Quick Change act performed by Adrian Soler from Spain. If you aren't aware of what quick change is, it is basically an act that the magician's assistant change clothes/dresses in mere seconds. And in that act, there was a trick when the magician places a steel bucket over the assistant's head and bing bang boom, when the bucket is removed, the assistant's head is missing. WTF??? i was sitting a mere 20 feet away and i didn't see my mirrors or anything. I was stunned and so was the rest of the crowd. See the following series of photos to see what i mean.
Another one of the more memorable acts was from Kevin James from the US of A. Bare hands...rub rub rub....whoooosh..... a palm filled with "snow" shooting 20 feet into the air and into the audience. Dumb founded is what I was feeling.
I think I've mentioned just about enough, any more, you might as well read it here. lol. Erica Ting is giving out 1+1 invites for RM300 for the show. Just follow a few simple instructions and see how you can get your grubby hands on the free invites. Get it quick as the the give-aways ends on Wednesday, 5th October. The show will only be performing for 2 weeks only. Get it quick.
Verdict: Amazing!!!
